ACTC Annual Translator's Award 2010

ACTC Translation Centre is giving out its very first ACTC Annual Translator’s Award 2010 to reward and express our gratitude to outstanding translators this year! The award comes with attractive cash prizes. Read on to find out more!

Objectives of the Award

  •  Realize, recognize and reward outstanding and professional translators
  •  Encourage working translators to contribute to the translation profession
  •  Provide role models for fellow working translators
  •  Increase recognition of the translator profession
  •  Raise professional standards of the translator profession
  •  Express our gratitude to working translators of ACTC Translation Centre
Eligibility for Award
All full-time and freelance translators (all languages) working for ACTC Translation Centre in the year 2010 will be automatically entered in the selection towards the award.

Selection Criteria
  •  Translation quality (Accuracy of translation, command of source and target languages)
  •  Contribution to ACTC Translation Centre
  •  Delivery of translation (Ability to reach deadlines)
  •  Responsibility to translation profession (Ability to be behave professionally and with maturity when dealing  with issues in translation work, translation delivery or translation comments)
  •  Pleasant feedback from clients and/or the project managers
Awards and Prizes

  •  All award owners will be presented with a Certificate of ACTC Annual Translator’s Award 2010 based on their rankings.
  •  Cash prizes: 1st Prize: S$1000, 2nd Prize: S$500, 3rd Price: S$300
  •  All award owners will have a short interview with ACTC Translation Centre and award results will be published on the ACTC website blog.
Time and Duration
Selection began on the 1st of January 2010 and will end on the 31st of December 2010. Shortlisted translators will be notified by email by end of January 2011 and prizes will be award by end of Feb. 2011.

This is the first time when ACTC Translation Centre is organizing this annual award for its very own translators. ACTC intends to organize this award selection every year from this year 2010 onwards. Therefore we welcome all feedback on any aspects of the award so that we may improve on future award selections.

We hope that all translators will do their best to participate actively in the selection and strive in their work as a translator for ACTC, as well as in promoting the translation profession and industry in Singapore as a whole.
